This is Sharp’s incredible 85-inch 8K TV

While 4K and curved TV’s may be all the buzz at CES this year, Sharp is showing off their 85-inch monster TV running 8K, or twice the resolution of all the others, and four times what your best TV at home is capable of. While 3D is nothing new in the market, this particular set does not require any glasses to be worn to get the same effect. Obviously because 4K is just now starting to become more mainstream, this 8K TV is still in it’s earlier stages, but those who have had a chance to watch it have sung its praises saying even at it’s large 85″ size the picture was amazingly crisp and even small details were sharp as a tack. They were less enthusiastic about the glasses free 3D, but again it is still a long way off from being available in any stores, so they have ample time to get everything up to scratch before a release to the general public. Makes me wonder though, if 4K is just coming out to the public, and they are already showing off 8K, just how long will 4K make it on the market before we are all expected to upgrade our TV’s again? Netflix has already announced they will be streaming shows in 4K and I am not sure how many peoples internet connection will be able to keep up with that high bandwidth content, let alone double that once 8K becomes a thing. Time will tell, and I am excited to see just how far companies can go to deliver content that looks as real as looking out a window.
