Road Tripping
I’ve been away from my computer as I’ve been traveling across the country and I don’t know how to write on a phone because I’m too old and my fingers are too fat. BUT I was able to listen to music on the way as I drove past cows, cows, and more cows. Seriously. Avoid upstate NY and Ohio if you can. And Indiana. And Wisconsin. Unless you reallyfucking like cows. At least Wisconsin had a ridiculous amount of water park resorts and crazy rock formations to break up the views. But jesus christ, there are a lot of cows in this country. We need to cut back on dairy. You should probably swap out your breakfast milk for bourbon like me. Yeah. I have nothing going on.
When traveling I found myself drawn to the same type of songs over and over again. Songs about the road and all that crap sure, but also songs that have that western sound. The lyrics need to justify me moving along, but when I’m on the open road the sound is just as important. I’ve heard that some peoplelike listening to 90s sing-a-long jams, hip hop, or even showtunes on road trips, but you can keep your Eve 6, Kanye, and 525,600 minutes to yourself. Something about outlaw music is what I crave: country, bluegrass, folk, and the like. Maybe it’s because I can pretend like I’m on a noble pioneer quest instead of driving alongside a bunch of other asshole motorists inbetween Red Roof Inns. Who the hell knows for sure? (Yeah’s that probably it though) Anyway, here’s my outlaw, western road trippin playlist. If anyone else would like to add their playlists I would encourage that in the comments. But no fucking Cats.
