Philly Concert Picks: May 6th – 10th

Holy shit…. summer is here, the weather is great and there are some great shows happening this week so get off the couch and see some music.

Wednsday the 6th: Atmosphere @ The Trocadero

I know we don’t cover anything hip hop related very often here at EBE… but I’m from Minnesota and I’ve got to rep the home town heroes.

Thursday the 7th: West Philadelphia Orchestra @ Underground Arts

The West Philadelphia Orchestra is an eastern european, gypsy jazz, brass band.   They always deliver, and you’re not going to find anything quite like them in Philly.

Friday the 8th: Lovers League and Levee Drivers @ Boot and Saddle

Lovers League is sort of a Philly folk super group.   It’s the collaboration of Dani Mari and Reverend TJ McGlinchey, two mainstays in the Philly folk scene.   That alone would make for a great show, throw the Levee Drivers into the mix and you’ve got one hell of a great bill.    Don’t miss this one.

Saturday the 10th: St. James & The Apostles and Meddlesome Meddlesome Meddlesome Bells @ Ortlieb’s

Fresh of a west coast tour St. James & The Apostles are back and the word on the street this may be the only Philly show for a little while so don’t miss it.
